Julia Nell Brown Shortt of Damascus Virginia went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 8, 2024, following a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her mother Willy Marie Pennington Eddy Abingdon Virginia, Everett Hix Brown Pulaski Virginia brother Charles "Charlie" Everett Brown Everett Washington and son Michael Scott Shortt Abingdon Virginia.

Julia is survived by daughters Laura Shortt of Damascus, Patricia Price of Dinwiddie Virginia, son Richard Shortt of Cedartown Georgia and son in-law Jeff Wingler Damascus Virginia. Grandchildren Misty Hughes, Richard Shortt III, Julie Dotson, Katherine Frye, Austin Boroski and Matthew Shortt. Great Grandchildren Deringer Shortt, Eli Frye, Ainzlee Frye, Karma McClanahan and Dodge McClanahan.

Julia worked in the textile industry with the Harwood manufacturing company and was a retired officer of the state AFL-CIO.

We would like to thank the palliative care staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital for the kind compassionate care for our mother.

A funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Frost Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Baumgardner.
