John Roger Fern born September 7, 1961 passed away on April 17, 2023 at his Abingdon home.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Johnson Fern and Julia Harris Fern.

John is survived by his wife Susan E. Garrett and daughter Johnna Deans and husband Jamie and grandson Eli. John is also survived by his brother Jim and wife Tonya Fern and brother Bob Fern; brothers-in-law William "Bill" T. Garrett and wife Maria, Terry Garrett and wife Sabrina, John Garrett and wife Bernadette; sister-in-law Sherry Weddle; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Little Bit and Teddy.

John loved to golf prior to his back injury, and also enjoyed gardening and cooking. He loved to fish and boat on SoHo.

The family will receive friends to share memories and condolences after the Celebration of Life service on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Frost Funeral Home at 6:00 P.M.
