Jerry Lee Callahan, age 92, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Jerry was born to the late Ernest and Ethel Callahan in Abingdon, Virginia. He has lived in Abingdon his whole life and has been an employee of places like Abingdon Motor Company, Town of Abingdon, and is a life member of Abingdon Fire Department after 40 years of service. He also served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Stout Callahan; and two sisters, Elizabeth Eades and Ernestine Hayter.

Jerry is survived by one son, Dan Callahan (Beverly); two daughters, Debbie Chapman (Carl) and Sheila Parks (Robbie); five grandchildren, Andy Chapman, Amy Dugger, Patrick Callahan, Emma Harrison, and Nick McGinnis; several great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M..

The family would like to also send a special thanks to Deer Meadows Rehabilitation and Nursing for the love and care they showed towards Mr. Callahan.
