Jerry "Redeye" Atkins, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

Jerry was a life-long truck driver with Mason Dixon and several other companies as well as an independent driver. During his career, he received numerous million-mile safety awards. Jerry was a fan of classic country music. Jerry was a member of Greendale Chapel and proudly served on the church security team.

He is survived by his son, David Atkins; daughter, Kim Atkins; grandson, Hunter Atkins; sister, Jackie Atkins Godbey and husband Mark; several nieces and nephews and his special grand-dog, Daizie Mae also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with the Reverend Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to arrive at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
