Jeanette Faulkner Fleenor, age 91, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Jeanette was born in Bristol, Viriginia on July 30, 1932 to the late Roy and Mabel Faulkner. She remained in the area and attended Emory and Henry College where she obtained a Bachelors Degree of Science. She had a long tenure as a math teacher at Patrick Henry High School. Jeanette was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her bridge club for many years. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and bird watching. Above all, Jeanette treasured spending time with her family. There were epic card games that went well into the night.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 54 years, Donald F. Fleenor; and her brother, Roscoe Faulkner.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Donald E. Fleenor and wife Margie, and David L. Fleenor and wife Teresa; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the two ladies who have been faithful caregivers to Jeanette, Jean Warren and Peggy Cumbow.

The family will receive friends at Abingdon United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 4, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Paul Seay and Reverend Ryan Fleenor officiating. Committal service will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jeanette to Abingdon United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
