Mr. Herbert Anderson, age 74, a former resident of Damascus, Virginia passed away on September 14, 2022.

He was the son of the late John C. and Virgie Anderson and was of the Baptist Faith. Herb was known as a hard worker and loved all kids. He retired from Town of Elkin after years of service. He loved his family and left us with many memories to cherish.

He was preceded in death by two stepsons Toby and Shawn Butcher.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Gaynell Anderson of Elkin, North Carolina; one daughter, Katy Anderson; two sisters, Glenna Reynolds of Johnson City, Tn. and Bernice Davis of Columbia Station, Ohio; one brother, Gene Anderson of Damascus, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Anderson, Arizona and Georgina Anderson, Virginia; one brother-in-law, Dale Bryant; two stepdaughters, Kim (Kimmy) Brooks and Beverly Smith; one stepson, Travis Butcher; two grandchildren; two very special step grandchildren, Dalton (Biggy) Hutchins and Derek Brooks; other step grandchildren, LeighAnne, Gracie, Colby, Cody, Danny, Katie, Robby, Jayden, Austin and Kinley; great grandchildren, Jay and Connor; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

A graveside service for Herbert Anderson will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Zion Cemetery on Rt. 58 in Damascus, Virginia with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family ask that everyone will meet at the Zion Cemetery by 2:45 P.M. on Saturday.
