Harry “Hank” C. Odem, Jr.

With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Harry “Hank” C. Odem, Jr at The Waters of Bristol on April 25, 2026. He was born to parents Maie Pearl (Jones) Odem and Harry Clay Odem, Sr. on August 27,1940.

Hank was a proud member of WKHS's final graduating class and played halfback for the Mighty Midgets of William King High School in Abingdon, VA. He also attended Lees-McRae College and Gaston Colleges. He was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly NASCAR and the Tennessee Volunteers and a devoted fan of 1950 Rock and Roll Music. Additionally, he served in the United States Army from 1963-1965.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his sons: Anne Campbell Odem and his brother David Odem.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (Waters) Odem, his son Clay (Gina) of Gastonia North Carolina and Mark (Laura) of Dallas North Carolina, two grandsons, Jonathon (Emily) and Jason (Vanessa), two granddaughters Taylor Odem and Hannah Odem and one great-granddaughter Annie Odem. He is also survived by stepsons Sam, Tom and Steve Legard and their families as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A brief service and gathering of family and friends will be held at Frost Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. with memorial service to follow at 2:00 P.M. with Bonnie Lester officiating.

Inurnment will be private and take place at a later date.
