Garnet Taylor Howard, 78, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Garnet was born June 9, 1944, to the late William Paul and Mabel F. Howard. He retired from HAPCO after 43 years. Garnet loved to mow and spend time in the mountains hunting. He faithfully attended Calvary Bible Church in Bristol, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Squires and Sylvia Purvis.

Garnet is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty W. Howard; one daughter, Kim (David) Thomas; one son, Jonathan Howard; two grandchildren, David "Austin" Thomas and Caleb Thomas; two brothers, William T. "Bill" Howard and Edgar Howard; three sisters, Nancy Mooring, Linda Jessee, and Debra Parris; many nieces and nephews also survive.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life service at a later date.
