Gannel Jean Owens Bailey, 77, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia.

She was born April 2, 1945, to the late Lucy and Sherman Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Stiltner.

Gannel was a supervisor cook at Buchanan General Hospital for over 20 years. She was known by many in Buchanan County and was a friend to all who knew her. She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family.

Gannel is survived by her son, James Bailey and wife Catherine; one daughter-in-law, Karen Stiltner; five grandchildren, Logan Stiltner, Benjamin Bailey, William Bailey, Jaime Bailey, and Jennifer Bailey.

All services will be private.
