Frances Jane Gobble, 75, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Born on February 8, 1951, to the late Homer and Mary Goodson, Jane lived a life devoted to her faith, family, and community. She was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of Greendale Chapel Church, where she was an active member of the Ladies' Group.

In December 1982, Jane fulfilled her dream of opening her own beauty salon, Magic Scissors. She cherished the friendships she made and the opportunity to serve others through her work. Following neck surgery, she retired from the salon in 2000.

Above all else, Jane's greatest joy was her family. Her sons were the center of her world, and her grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness. She will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Goodson and Angela Goodson; and three brothers, Roger Dale Goodson, Richard Lee Goodson, and Lonnie Mike Goodson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 55 years, Gene Gobble; two sons, Kevin Gene Gobble (Christine) and Robbie Lynn Gobble (Nancy); four beloved grandchildren, Emery Lynn Gobble, Quinn Grace Gobble, Gabriel Lucas Gobble, and Katie Rowan Gobble; two brothers, Freddie Lynn Goodson (Alisa) and Donald Ray Goodson; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Greendale Chapel Church in Abingdon, Virginia. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Drew Goodson, Adam Goodson, Josh Goodson, Barry Gobble, Greg Gobble, and Chris Fleenor. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Greendale Chapel.

Jane will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family and friends. The love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will be cherished always. While she will be deeply missed by all who loved her, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Lord.
