Epp Spencer, 85, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Spencer was born on April 27, 1941, in Buchanan County, Virginia, to the late Parris and Ocie Spencer. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, farming, and tinkering with vehicles. Epp was also a talented singer and loved playing the guitar. He took great pride in his family and in the simple joys of life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Judith Roxanne McGlothlin and Inis Spencer; and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Helen Spencer; three sons, Harold Spencer, Johnny Spencer, and Michael Spencer and wife, Beth; three daughters, Loretta Sherfey and husband, Robert, Karen Helton and husband, Jeff, and Brenda Dowell and husband, Jason; one sister, Kathleen Reid; one brother, Grant Spencer; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and special friends, Rick and Shelia Miller.

Epp will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his musical talents, his hardworking nature, and, most of all, the love he shared with his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Tuesday A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on September 01, 2026 at Riverview Cemetery in Bristol, VA with Ben Repass officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.
