Emma Marie Blackwell Henegar, 91, passed away on May 11, 2024, at her home in Abingdon, Virginia surrounded by her loving family.
Emma was born on September 13, 1932, to the late John Henry Blackwell and Pearlie Farmer Blackwell.
Emma loved to quilt and garden. Emma was a devout Christian whose strong faith in her Lord and Savior was realized on May 11.
In addition to her parents, Emma is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Samuel Earl Henegar.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kathy Murray (Dean) of Meadowview, VA, Sharon Keesee (Jim) of Abingdon, VA, Donna Read (Mark) of Roanoke, VA, Tony Henegar (Sandy) of Glade Spring, VA, Sandra Guinn (Richard) of Meadowview, Va, Michael Henegar (Diana) of Glade Spring, VA, and James Henegar (Ang) of Abingdon, VA. Survivors also include her twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, several special neighbors, as well as her special companions, her dog, Lilly and cat, JoJo.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Frost Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Michael Henegar officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View United Methodist Church. Jonathan Henegar, Tyler Henegar, Jared Rice, Adam Cumbow, Austin Guinn, Junior Taylor, and Landon Phillippi will serve as pallbearers. Keith Henegar will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
