Edith Parris Bare, 88, went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2025, at Abingdon Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Bare was born on August 09, 1936, to the late Verlin and Helen Annie Parris in Washington County, VA. She was an avid gardener who loved to spend time in her flowers. Above all she enjoyed being able to stay home and raise her children. She was of the Baptist faith.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Joe B. Bare; brothers, Wilford and Gene Parris; nephew, Verlin W. Parris.

Survivors include, her loving four daughters, Kathy Hollars (Richard), Terry O'Quinn (Danny), Kim Harris (Jerry) and Vickie Cornelius (John); and loving son, Steve Bare; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, special sister-in-law, Shirley Parris.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of MSA Hospice and Abingdon Health and Rehab for their love and care to Mrs. Bare during this time.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 03, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home with procession to follow to Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Chaplin Melanie Daniel officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Roger Cullip, Danny O'Quinn Jr., Jeremy Harris, Zack Eldreth, Isaac Eldreth, and Landon Eldreth.

Honorary pallbearers, Conner Eldreth, Danny O'Quinn III, and Stetson Harris.
