Earnest Barlow, age 82, passed away on February 1, 2026. He was born on October 31, 1943, to the late Emory Barlow and Nettie Barlow.

Earnest was a devoted member of the Church of the Creek and found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved cars, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. Some of his happiest moments were taking his grandchildren to see deer and Christmas lights—memories that will be cherished for years to come. He also lovingly raised his granddaughter, Samantha Ware, from the age of 13, a role he embraced with pride and devotion.

In addition to his parents, Earnest was preceded in death by two daughters, Regina Hamby and her husband Rob, and Christina Baines and her husband Michael; one grandson, Michael Baines Jr.; ten siblings; and his former wife, Florence Long, who remained his best friend.

He is survived by his son, Ernie Barlow and wife Tammy; his sister, Marjie Thomas; seven grandchildren: Robbie Hamby (Sarah), Jessica Hamby, Dustin Hamby, Samantha Ware (John), Kasie Brook (Brandon), Jeremy Barlow (Kate), and Jaysen Barlow (Emily); seven great-grandchildren: Coast Fletcher, Hunter Sizemore, L.J. Ware, Oaklynn Ware, McKenna Brooks, Jaxson Brooks, and Kayden Barlow; and many nieces and nephews.

Earnest will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep love for his family, and the loud and loving ways he showed he cared.
