Donald Lewis "D.L." Stout, 82, of the Bethel community, Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2022, at his home.

D.L. was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired from UPS. He enjoyed fixing anything and everything, working in his garden and loving his many animals. D.L. was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Kelly Stout and Nancy Wilson Stout; wife, Martha Kay Roberts Stout and two sisters, Mary Jo Lovette and Nancy Karen Stout.

Survivors include his daughter, Melinda Jett and husband, Bruce of Abingdon, Va.; two very special granddaughters, Amanda Bishop and Ashton Bishop of Abingdon, Va.; three brothers, Norman Stout, John Kelly Stout, Jr. and Roger Stout; two sisters, Edna Stout and Barbara Stout; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Jim Walker officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 2:45 p.m.
