Denver M. Russ, age 89, of Abingdon, Virginia passed away August 24, 2026. He was born on September 10, 1936, in Abingdon Virginia to Samuel and Susie Russ.

CMSG Russ Served in the United States Airforce for 26 years. He also worked in the Air Force Civil Service for an additional 20 years.

In addition to other family members he is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Russ; and son, Glenn R. Russ.

Denver will be remembered for his loyalty and devotion to his family and friends we call family. He is survived by his son Robert A. Russ (Betty), daughter Rhona L. Bassett (Mark), Grandson Jacob R. Smith and Granddaughter Megan Adams.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Rust Hollow Cemetery in Abingdon, Virginia with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating.
