David Oscar Widner, 54, of the Denton Valley community, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

He was born on January 19, 1968, in Sullivan County, Tenn. to David "Frosty" Widner and Carolyn Rose Widner.

Oscar enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father, David "Frosty" Widner.

Survivors include his wife, Krystal Widner; mother, Carolyn Widner; two daughters, Montana and Sarah Widner; one step-son, Theron Naples; three brothers, Cecil Widner, Glen Widner (Missy) and James Widner; two sisters, Candice Widner and Ashley Widner; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at Rhudy Cemetery with Bro. Junior Gobble officiating. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
