Cecil Gobble, age 86, went to be with the Lord at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Born on December 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Arnie and Litty Gobble. Cecil was a faithful member and Deacon of Woodland Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dana Gobble; one sister, Agnes Salyer and husband Paul; and one niece, Tammy Salyer.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Nancy K. Gobble; one son, Calvin R. Gobble and wife Misty; two brothers, George Gobble and wife Pat, and Danie Gobble; two grandchildren, Brooklyn Gobble and Kara Gobble; special nieces, Terry Stiltner, Shannon Stacy, Teresa Baker, and Melisa Jackson; special nephew, Randy Salyer; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Rex Carter, Bro. Jerry A. Eggers, and Bro. Danny Felty officiating.

Interment will follow in procession to Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
