Carl Johnson, age 79, passed away on June 17, 2026. He was born on February 24, 1947, to the late Hulet and Gracie Johnson.

Carl enjoyed hunting, attending church, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love of family, his faith, and the many memories he shared with those he loved.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Johnson; seven brothers; six sisters; and two daughters, Carla Jean Johnson and Christy Leigh Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tiffany Marie Yates (William); his son, Jason Carl Johnson (Diana); his grandchildren, Alex Yates and Macks Cleek; his brothers, Ray Johnson (Dianna) and Ricky Johnson (Egberto); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Moore Family Cemetery in Bristol, Virginia, with Pastor Shannon Smith officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Ballad Hospice Team, especially Monica, for the love, compassion, and support shown to Mr. Johnson and his family during this time.
