Brenda Carol Tackett 54 years of age was born August 19, 1972 in Pikeville KY. She was called home suddenly on August 23, 2026.

She was a free spirit who loved the outdoors, walking, listening to music and was a gifted writer. She loved to read and sought out knowledge. Family was everything to Brenda and she loved Jesus. She cared deeply for all those around her, seen the good in everyone and she didn’t know a stranger.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Boge and Mary Tackett of Myra KY, a father Robert Tackett of Keokee VA, a mother Freida Estep of Abingdon VA, a brother Robert JR Tackett of Merrell Inlet, SC, and a grandson Isaiah Marvin of Abingdon VA.

She is survived by two daughters, Tosha Nicole Bentley of Abingdon, Virginia, and Sarah Beth Lacy (Bredan) of Springfield, Georgia; one son, Dylan Wayne Tackett of Abingdon, Virginia; several grandchildren, Hailey Miller of Pensacola, Florida, Matthew Jr. Marvin and Destiny Mitchell of Abingdon, Virginia, Xander Mitchell of Bristol, Virginia, and Nicholas, Lucas, Ryder, and Jensen Lacy of Springfield, Georgia; two brothers, Kevin Tackett of Lexington, Kentucky, and Carlos Bentley of Whitesburg, Kentucky; two sisters, Amanda Helton of Huntington, West Virginia, and Wendi Lowe of Pikeville, Kentucky; and a special aunt, Renee Tackett of Virgie, Kentucky.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor George Pope officiating.
