Brenda Lou Lester, 80, peacefully passed away December 25, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Brenda was born June 27, 1942 to the late Earl and Pearl Lockhart Lester in Hurley, VA.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved and adored her family above all. She loved to shop, especially for shoes, she also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and decorating for Christmas which was her favorite time of the year. Brenda was a member of First Baptist of Norfolk, and attended Highland Fellowship Church.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by, step-mother, Ruby Lester; special grandmother, Virginia Lockhart; grandson, Connor Wayne Turner.

Survivors include, her loving husband of 59 years, 11 months, and 25 days, Bobby Lester; two daughters, Denise Lester Carawan and husband Ronnie, Cindy Lester Turner and husband Wayne; two brothers, Lloyd Lester and wife Judy, Jerry Lester and wife Dorothy; two sisters, Diana Lester, Darlene Burks and husband Benny; three grandchildren, Katie Thacker, Robbie Bolton, and Casey Turner; great-grandson, Greyson Thacker; also, many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Craig Barber officiating. Interment will take place at Knollkreg Memorial Park.
