Bonnie Earnestine Caldwell, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026.

Born on August 4, 1935, in Washington County, Virginia, Bonnie was the daughter of the late William and Ollie Caldwell. She was a woman of strong faith, a devoted member of Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church in Abingdon, Virginia, and lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and creativity.

Bonnie spent her entire professional career with Parks-Belk Company, where she was a valued and respected employee. Outside of work, she found great joy in crafting and woodworking, creating treasured pieces that reflected her talent, patience, and attention to detail. Ms. Caldwell could tell you everything about her genealogy because of her sharp mind up until her death.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Eskridge and husband Van, and Ruth Kelly and husband John; and her nephews, Dan Eskridge, Richard Eskridge, and Mark Eskridge.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Joyce C. Hawthorne and husband Tom; nephew, J.B. Kelly III; nieces, Rebecca Jane Kelly and Doris Eskridge; great-nephews, Patrick William Kelly and Christopher Eskridge; and great-nieces, Jennifer Adams and Amanda Talbert. She is also survived by several extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia, with Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Those wishing to attend are kindly asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.
