Bobby Bolling, 87, passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bobby was a longtime member of Abingdon United Methodist Church in Abingdon, Virginia. He dedicated 32 years of service to Valleydale Meat Packers until the plant closed. He later worked for Bristol Compressors for seven years, Food City for five years before retiring, and volunteered for Barter Theatre.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lorena Harris Bolling, who passed away in October 2024; his parents, Jim and Linnie Mae Bolling; his infant son, Michael Harris Bolling; his sister, Marie Carrier; his brother, Bud Bolling; and his sister, Nancy Rodefer.

He is survived by his daughters, Regina Wilkerson and husband Larry of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Deborah Smith and husband Steve of Fredericksburg, Virginia; his cherished grandchildren, Courtney Wilkerson, Kendall Wilkerson and husband Matt, Riley Wilkerson, and Nathaniel Smith; his sister, Rosezina Claman of Blountville; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Bobby loved life. He was always joking, telling stories, and making people laugh. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. His quick wit, warm smile, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

After 65 wonderful years of marriage, Bobby is now reunited with the love of his life, Lorena. Their devotion to one another was an inspiration, and the family finds comfort in knowing they are together again.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Paul Seay officiating. A committal service will follow at KnollKreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia.

Mr. Bolling loved life; always joking and telling jokes. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the staff at Harmony, at Falls Run, especially Mercy, Sarah, Cornelia, and Sabaina, and the nurses and staff at Medi Home Health and Hospice, especially Toni and Misty.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Barter Theatre in memory of Bobby or the American Red Cross.
