Ms. Barbara Ann McNeil, age 89, a resident of Washington, D.C. passed away at the Bridgepoint Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Washington County, Va., the daughter of the late Simpson William Prater and Thelma Countiss Wright Prater. She was also preceded in death by a son and a daughter, Skip McNeil and Joyce McNeil. She was also preceded by sister, Martha "Tick" Roark and a brother, William "Dub" Prater. She had worked for the Department of Agriculture as the Office Manager.

Barbara is survived by her two brothers, Randy Prater and wife Patty of Abingdon, Va. and Terry Prater and wife Jean of Damascus, Va.; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, several great nieces and nephews with a very special great niece, Nikki Martin who took great care of her.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Va. with Pastor Gary Ritchie officiating. A private visitation will be held on Wednesday for the immediate family.
