Anna Laura Thomas, 86, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her home in Glade Spring, Virginia.

She was born January 25, 1938, in Abingdon, Virginia to the late James Smith Millsap and Bessie Mae Wood Millsap.  Anna was the last surviving child of eight and worked as a seamstress for many years.  Anna loved flowers and could often be found in her garden.

Anna adored her family and looked forward to each Sunday when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren would gather at her home for meals consisting of anything from fried chicken and brown beans to her famous mashed potatoes and gravy.  Above all, Anna loved her Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ballard R. Thomas; and a son, Jackie A. Thomas.

Anna is survived by three children, Ike B. Thomas and wife Diane, Susan A. Doss and husband Willard, and Johnny D. Thomas and wife Teresa; three grandchildren, Jason Thomas and wife Natalie, George Doss and wife Marylou, and Hunter Thomas; two great grandchildren, Brody Thomas and Brian Doss; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Frost Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Jones officiating. A committal service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Rush Creek Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.

Pallbearers will be Jason Thomas, George Doss, Hunter Thomas, Tracy Bott, Dillon Bott, Dustin Bott and Mark Thomas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Holloway, Eddie Heath, Daniel Heath, Cannan Heath and Jake Bott.
