Ann Roberts
Minton
Feb 14, 1934 — Oct 15, 2026
Ann Roberts Minton, 92, passed away peacefully at her home at English Meadows Memory Care in Abingdon on October 15, 2026. A special holiday gift to her parents, Ann was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1934.
She graduated from Bethel High School and Emory & Henry College. Ann spent her career teaching business in Washington County Public Schools. She taught at Holston High School and Patrick Henry High School.
Ann was a member of Damascus Presbyterian Church, where she used her business degree to serve the Lord as church treasurer. She remained active in the church until her health declined and she was no longer able to drive.
An animal lover, Ann fed and cared for many cats over the years. Two pets held a special place in her heart: her dog, Cherie, and her orange cat, Ginger.
Ann and her husband, Jack Minton of Damascus, enjoyed attending Emory & Henry football games, seeing plays at Barter Theatre, and traveling throughout the United States. They especially enjoyed bus trips to Branson, Missouri.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Blair G. Roberts and Laura Rhea Roberts, and her husband, Jack O. Minton. She is survived by her first cousin, Peggy Roberts McPherson of Montgomery, Alabama, and several cousins from the Roberts and Rhea families, including her special cousins, Lisa Roberts of Emory, Virginia, and Dr. John Roberts and Wes Roberts of Abingdon, who cared for Ann during the final years of her life.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers at English Meadows Abingdon, who provided Ann with loving and exceptional care throughout her difficult journey with dementia. We also express our gratitude to Ballad Hospice and her nurse, Nicole, who accompanied Ann through her final days with comfort and support.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Frost Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow going in procession to Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are kindly asked to meet at Frost Funeral Home by 10:45 A.M. to go in procession.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, of which Ann was a loyal supporter or to Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund where her husband, mother and father are buried.
Frost Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Ms. Ann Roberts Minton.
