Adrin Scott
Burks
Jan 16, 1960 — Oct 24, 2026
Adrin “Scotty” Burks, age 66, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Scotty was born on January 16, 1960, to the late Spencer and Leenell Burks.
Scotty spent many years working for Kiser Trucking and took great pride in owning and operating his own truck. Known on the road as “Carbide,” he enjoyed the friendships he made with his fellow truck drivers throughout the years. Scotty had a special talent for finding the best places to eat, and he always knew where to find a good banana split. Above all, Scotty loved the Lord. He found great joy in attending church, listening to gospel music, and sharing his faith with others. Whether he was on the road or spending time with those he loved, Scotty never missed an opportunity to talk about the Lord.
In addition to his parents, Scotty was preceded in death by three brothers, Spencer “Rick” Burks Jr., Dennise Burks, and Danny Burks; one sister, Kathy Vance; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Burks.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tracy Burks; his two sons, Chad Ryan Burks and Clay Tyler Burks; his grandchild, Alayah Burks; his sister, Donna Keene (Joe); his three brothers, Dave Burks (Stephanie), Doug Burks (Dawneda), and Nick Burks; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gaye and Wendell Hart; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Christina Hart; his special nephew, Clint Hart (Taylor); his soon-to-arrive great-nephew, Bo Hart; and several other nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M., with Pastor Kirby Miller, Pastor Donnie “Duck” Musick, and Pastor Charles Debord officiating.
A committal service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Frost Funeral Home by 1:45 P.M. to join the funeral procession to the cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Billy Taylor, Bill Stiltner, Bobby Barrett, Clint Hart, and Austin Kiser.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mitt Kiser, Bill Skeens, Greg Kiser, Scott Hart, Allen Whited, Herman Gent, Ray Wilson, Jim Eaton, Shannon Castle, Mike Gilbert, and the men of Mt. Calvary Church.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Scotty's special caregivers, Ellen Myatt, Linda Gale Munsey, and Theresa Conway, for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided.
