Samuel
“Sam” Litton, Sr., 82, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday,
June 2, 2019.
Sam was
an Air Force Veteran and a member of Palestine Baptist Church. He built houses for most of his life,
retiring to become the best blueberry farmer around. In his younger days he loved to deep sea fish
and was known to play a mean game of Rook.
He will
be forever in our hearts.
He was
preceded in death by his parents, Oakie and Eugene Litton.
He is
survived by his wife of 58 years, Bettie; two children, Sam Jr. and wife
Cristal; and Sandy; four grandchildren, Jocelyn Woods, Austin Litton, Casey
Litton and Sam Pierce; step grandson, Cody Perrigan; great granddaughter,
Paisley Litton; step great grandson, Ryder Perrigan; brother, Billy; and
sisters, Betsy Orfield, Lou Roland and husband Sonny; several nieces, nephews
and friends.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in the Frost Funeral Home
Chapel. A funeral service will follow at
7 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Stephen Richardson officiating. A committal service with military honors by
the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Air Force will be held
at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery. Those attending are asked to gather at the
cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
Pallbearers
will be his grandsons and nephews.
